Who we are

Haus It is a shared home organiser for housemates and families, made by Roxanne Bell in Australia. If you have any question about your data, email hello@hausitapp.com.

What we collect

• Your account: your name and email address, and your password if you sign up with email. Passwords are handled by Google Firebase Authentication and we never see them. If you continue with Apple or Google, they share your name and email with us (Apple lets you hide your email behind a relay address).
• What you add: notes, what's in your fridge (item names, quantities, use-by dates and whether an item is shared or just yours), calendar events, tasks, expenses and repeating bills, payments between housemates, messages, categories, and house info such as the Wi-Fi password, bin night and your landlord's contact details.
• Your household: its name, who is in it, its invite code, its currency and chore points.
• Location, only if you allow it: while the app is open, your approximate position is sent to Open-Meteo to show local weather. We don't store it.
• Notifications, only if you turn them on: a push token for your device, so reminders can reach you.
• The home-screen widget, if you add one: a short summary (today's count, jobs, food to use and your balance) is saved on your phone for the widget to show. It isn't sent anywhere.
• Crash reports: when the app crashes we receive the error, your device model, operating system and app version. We don't deliberately include your notes, messages or expenses.
• Feedback you send us: your message, plus your device and app version so we can reproduce the problem.

Who can see it

Everything you add to a household is visible to the other members of that household, including fridge items marked as just yours (so nobody eats them) and the house info. That is how the app works. Nobody outside your household can see it.

We don't sell your data, and there is no advertising in Haus It.

Services we use

• Google Firebase stores accounts and household data. Your data is stored in Sydney, Australia.
• Apple and Google handle sign-in if you choose them. Deleting an account that signed in with Apple also removes the app's access at Apple.
• Open-Meteo provides weather. It only receives approximate coordinates.
• Sentry receives crash reports and may process them outside Australia.
• Expo delivers app updates, so it receives basic device information when the app checks for one.

Keeping and deleting your data

We keep your data while you have an account. You can delete your account at any time in Settings, which permanently deletes your login and your profile.

Things you added to a shared household, such as notes, fridge items, messages and expenses, stay with that household after you leave, so the other members' records, and especially who owes whom, stay accurate. The household owner can reset the household to erase all of it.

Your rights

You can ask to see, correct or delete the personal information we hold about you by emailing hello@hausitapp.com. We handle personal information in line with the Australian Privacy Principles, and give the same rights to everyone, wherever they live.

Children

Haus It isn't intended for children under 13 using it on their own.

Changes

If this policy changes we'll update this page and the date at the top, and tell you in the app if the change is significant.
